Let's Look at Norwich
Discover how Norwich has gone from being a small riverside settlement to a magnificient city. Learn about the important people, buildings and events in the history of Norwich, and about what daily life was like for people in different historical time periods. The information is brought to life through costume, props, action songs and Roman soldier boot camps!
Optional Follow-up: Half day of English and art-based activities, enabling children to further explore the history of Norwich and to respond to what they have learned (linked to History 5a and the English / Art and Design curriculum guidelines).

Here Come the Romans!
How did life in Britain change when the Romans invaded? Starting with a Roman Boot Camp ready for the battle against Boudicca, this highly interactive talk goes on to look at how the Romans changed how people in Britain dressed, ate, kept clean and built their homes.
The second part of the session is a carousel of activities, which may include mosaic-making, visiting a Roman shop, making garum and going to the Roman baths (the activities are decided in consultation with the lead teacher).

World War Two
World War Two affected everyone - from the richest to the poorest; the oldest to the youngest. Meet Lucy as she goes about her daily chores - doing the housework, make-do-and-mend, writing to her soldier husband and making special ration sweets for her son. Listen as she describes the experiences, and learn some songs to help her stay cheerful in the air raid shelter.
